I’ve been conned by a Skinny Rabbit!!!

Let’s face it. There are times when we’ve all “been had” by a Skinny Rabbit. For two years, I worked at a school as a 2nd grade teacher. The lead teacher for 2nd grade had been fired as a principal (I came to find out). She was nice when I was interviewing, but as soon as I started working there, she became more and more controlling and demanding. My ideas were “dumb” or she would just stare at me and say nothing. I started really questioning if I was a good teacher. I started getting sick a lot, and I know it was just the stress of having to work in that environment. I kept thinking and thinking that things were going to get better – until finally my husband handed me the Skinny Rabbit book. I read about five pages and knew I needed to put in for the draft. I did and I’m in a different school now and love it. For me, the Skinny Rabbit I was chasing was thinking things would get better in that environment…

I was absolutely had by a Skinny Rabbit when it came to a situation with a guy we were trying to hire. The first time, we tried to bring him on board, we didn’t have the funding we needed. We even sent him to a training program at our expense, thinking that he’s come back and work with us and use what he learned to help our company – but he took another job instead. Two years later, he was ready to leave that position, and again, we provided him with lots of inside information that we thought would lead to his joining us. Rather, he ended up using that information we gave him to talk to one of our vendors, and went to work with them. It’s my fault we got burned twice. I saw lots of great talents in this person, but I should have seen after the first time that he was a Skinny Rabbit…

My new car is my Skinny Rabbit. It’s hard to admit, but after graduating college, I was sick of my old car (It ran great, but I was just sick of it). So I took out a loan for a new car that smelled great and looked great. The payment was so high, I had to say “no” to things, particularly at the end of the month. And then I lost my job… and the new car. And it’s ruined my credit losing the car. That car was absolutely a Skinny Rabbit.
